Honored military high officers have been canned whenever they forget that the US President is the Commander in Chief, as happened during the Presidential tenures of Harry Truman, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama. These military officers’ defrocking demonstrates symbolically that the Office of the President must remain in high esteem and not have generals and admirals relegating the nation to a banana republic ripe for military coups whenever some strong man or woman has a vision of setting up a dictatorship. In a comparable image destruction of the United States’ global stature, it is a mortal sin to see the Tea Party people exploiting racism to attempt to deride President Obama.

Tea Party Movement Sees Black Americans as Yesterday’s Slaves

The Tea Party Movement is nothing more than the latest iteration of yesterday’s Ku Klux Klan, so we need to get an idea of their perception of an African American male. They see African American men as yesterday’s slaves who have no capacity to think let alone to lead a nation. That is, black male slaves should be incarcerated where they are kept in chains like animals. The Tea Party people must believe that God gave the Caucasians dominion over the world’s nonwhites and the KKK’s job is to keep world order.

President Obama represents an abomination to the Tea Party people because he is indicative of the uppity black who dares to enjoy the American bounty only available for Caucasian privileged people. As we study Jana Evans Braziel yesteryear’s reasons for black lynching, under this warped thinking, it is not difficult to see why President Obama is receiving a media lynching.

Braziel writes, “Mob violence against African-Americans served four functions within southern society during the lynching era:

  1. to eradicate specific persons accused of crimes against the white community;
  2. as a mechanism of state-sanctioned terrorism designed to maintain a degree of leverage over the African-American population;
  3. to eliminate or neutralize competitors for social, economic, or political rewards; and
  4. as a symbolic manifestation of the unity of white supremacy”

The Tea Party people found the scurrilous poster to be their modern day hangman’s noose and their burning cross purportedly to incite fear in the mind of President Obama by reminding him that America is not in a post civil rights epoch. They flaunt their foul-mouthed posters like they are badges of honor. No one should be surprised at the Tea Party people railing against President Obama in indignant manners.
