Tea
Party Is the Latest Link in the Ku Klux Klan Evolutionary Chain |

When
I heard today’s Tea Party proclaiming “I want my country back” I knew
this is nothing more than their code words for I want a return of white
supremacy. This suggests a repeat
of the political whoredom of President Rutherford B. Hayes in his 1877
Compromise when he returned former African American slaves, freed by the
US Civil War, back into economic and political bondage at the hands of
the Southern White Citizen Councils through pulling out all Federal
Troops in the South.
We
thought President George W. Bush’s first election was a nightmare with
folks examining voting cards, but Hayes beat Democrat Samuel J. Tilden
by 185 to 184 Electoral Votes. The South gave
Hayes the Presidency for his allowing for the rekindling of white
supremacy. White liberalism in treatment of blacks got defrocked where
former Republicans defected to the anti-black conservative Democrats to
be in lockstep with the changing racist tenet pervading the Old
Confederacy.
You
would not think Harvard trained President Hayes could be so naive as to
think Southerners, who fought a Civil War over white supremacy
principles, would ever accept moderate positions on the treatment of
their former black slaves.
Hayes
said, ‘“My task was to
wipe out the color
line, to abolish sectionalism; to end the war and bring peace,” Hayes
remembered, but by 1878 he had to state, “I am reluctantly forced to
admit that the experiment was a failure.”’
The
1896 US Supreme Court
ruling in the Plessy vs. Ferguson case legitimated racial segregation as
the law of the land. The separate but equal ruling took blacks out of
mainstream citizenship for things can never be separate and equal in a
racist underpinned society.
The
Ku Klux Klan ran roughshod over southern blacks. White atrocities
perpetrated against blacks would never be prosecuted in a court of law
for no white would testify against another white.
D.W. Griffith
saw an opportunity to exploit the US Presidency to offer mainstream
legitimacy to the murderous skullduggery of the KKK.
He recognize the potential power
of the dawning silent movie industry to be a powerful instrument of
propaganda where whites could be portrayed as victims of the evil black
devils that Caucasians had to be rescued by the Ku Klux Klan. Griffith
presented black males as lusting for white females, ill mannered,
uppity, and subhuman.
Griffith created a KKK propaganda movie “The Birth of a Nation” that
on February 18, 1915 was the first
movie shown in The White House. It was seen by
President Woodrow Wilson and his family,
members of his staff and Cabinet, along with their wives. President
Wilson commented, “It is like writing history with Lightning. And my
only regret is that it is all so terribly true.”
This scurrilous movie became a blockbuster. The Presidential anointing
helped to preserve the Black American status as quasi-slaves. It gave
the Southern segregationists a new medium to speak to southern
sympathizers across the United States in full public view of the Federal
Government.
The
Ku Klux Klan was now free to flaunt their prowess in elaborate
demonstrations of their membership. In 1928 the KKK appeared as a
conquering army coming down Pennsylvania Avenue in the District of
Columbia.
Pervasive white supremacy started to lose it legitimacy with the
1954 US Supreme Court
ruling in the Brown vs Board of Education case. ‘Segregation of
children in public schools solely on the basis of race deprives children
of the minority group of equal educational opportunities, even though
the physical facilities and other "tangible" factors may be equal. The
"separate but equal" doctrine adopted in
Plessy v. Ferguson, 163 U.S.
537, has no place in the field of public education.’
White racist segregationist like
Georgia Governor Herman Talmadge knew it is one thing for the
Supreme Court to rule and quite another for it to be implemented. The
Independent.co.uk
reported, “Talmadge
attacked Brown vs Board of Education, the historic 1954 Supreme
Court ruling which banned racial segregation in public schools, as
‘reducing the Constitution to a scrap of paper’ and manoeuvred to
circumvent integration in every way he could. ‘There will never be mixed
schools while I am Governor,’ he proclaimed. In return, America's most
venerable civil-rights group, the NAACP, branded him the ‘enemy of the
Negro people’.”
In defiance to public school integration in 1957 of federal orders
Governor
Orval Faubus of Arkansas called out the Arkansas National Guard to
prevent integration in Little Rock. President Eisenhower responded by
sending federal troops to enforce the court order for integration.
Alabama Governor George Wallace recognized that he could say provocative
statements and racist actions to garner media attention hell bent on
changing the national direction on race. He was well aware that
education is the key to American upward mobility, so that meant low
educated whites would start to feel the full threat of their job market
non-competitiveness once their white privilege vanished.
In his January 14, 1963 Inaugural Address Wallace made it clear where he
stood on integration of public schools. “In
the name of the greatest people that have ever trod this earth, I draw
the line in the dust and toss the gauntlet before the feet of tyranny,
and I say segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever.”
Wallace followed this provocative statement
on June 11, 1963 standing in the door of the University of Alabama to
prevent integration.
Wallace managed to pull off his real agenda of uniting America’s white
racists behind one national leader. In his 1963 inaugural address
Wallace had also said, “Hear
me, Southerners! You sons and daughters who have moved north and west
throughout this nation . . . . we call on you from your native soil to
join with us in national support and vote . . and we know . . . wherever
you are . . away from the hearths of the Southland . . . that you will
respond, for though you may live in the fartherest reaches of this vast
country . . . . your heart has never left Dixieland.”
Wallace then turns his attention to non southern heritage racist
sympathizers. “And you native
sons and daughters of old New England's rock-ribbed patriotism . . . and
you sturdy natives of the great Mid-West . . and you descendants of the
far West flaming spirit of pioneer freedom . . we invite you to come and
be with us . . for you are of the Southern spirit . . and the Southern
philosophy . . . you are Southerners too and brothers with us in our
fight.”
Wallace built a racist following that permitted his
running unsuccessfully four times for President of the United States. He
worked to undermine civil rights for blacks and he continued the Civil
War with the US Government. Today’s Tea Party is a reincarnation of the
Wallace dream of unifying segregationists only today instead of a
messianic want-to-be leader George Wallace there is the white racist
leadership council of Russ Limbaugh, Glen Beck, Sean Hannity, and Sarah
Palin.
Today’s white racist leadership council saw November
4, 2008 as an American version of the German Nazi’s
Night
of Broken Glass (Kristallnacht). It is now okay to attack African
American leadership and the Federal Government with the same stone.
The
white racist
leadership council learned well from Nazi propaganda Chief Dr.
Joseph Goebbels that if you tell a lie enough times the people will see
it as the truth but the mortal enemy of propaganda is the truth. They
are effective in getting many Americans to believe President Barack
Obama was not born in the United States and he is really of the Islamic
Faith.
In
the inception of the Ku Klux Klan they had sympathetic newspapers to
spread their message of hate. D. W. Griffith changed the stakes by
enchanting Hollywood movie makers with the blockbuster Klan propaganda
movie, “The Birth of a Nation.” George Wallace was at the mercy of a
liberal television and print slanted press, since all sorts of
atrocities were perpetrated against civil rights workers in the south
making global news. However,
today’s Tea Party has Fox News to spread their hatemongering messages in
hopes of forcing failure on President Obama who they view as despicable
to America’s white leadership birthright.
The
Tea Party people need to understand that the Manifest Destiny thinking
of the 1840s that saw today’s Native Americans land on reservations
stripped of their birthright are not coming back. Furthermore, the only
people who can demand to have their country back are Native Americans.
If Tea Party people do not like our racially amalgamated society today,
perhaps they might go into exile in some European nation that might take
back their white ancestral heritage people.
Tea
Party racist juggernauts want to keep in mind that nonwhites today have
the vote and are not easily intimidated. Yesteryear’s KKK style of
running roughshod over nonwhites may be today’s suicide mission for
white night riders.
My
only worry is that I heard a black father argue the case that the gun
dealers are today’s Ku Klux Klan because they are selling nonwhites the
guns to kill themselves. Is the
daily high nonwhite body count from the murderous carnage on America’s
streets the real KKK and Tea Party gauge of racist philosophical
success?
