US Representative Michael Castle (R) of Delaware loss
his differentiation as a voice of reason in the Republican Party by being
enchanted by their ultra rightwing de facto leadership of bigoted talking heads
of America’s Racist Trinity of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Glen Beck
through his lockstep vote against universal healthcare. Has Castle loss contact
with the reality of the impact of poor senior citizens not taking their
medications because they are unaffordable?
Commonsense suggests that when seniors are not
taking their medication it is tantamount to forcing end of life
decisions upon these people.
It
is disingenuous for the Republican Party to attempt to take away the
potential higher quality in life for senior citizens by killing
healthcare knowing that it closes the doughnut hole in Medicare.
Perhaps
the Republican Party sees Dr. Jack Kevorkian (Dr. Death) as their pied
piper to eradicate poor senior citizens who they want euthanized by
withholding their life sustaining medication.
The Republican Party’s aggressive posturing to
continue attempting to kill universal healthcare indicates that they are
espousing a reincarnation of eugenics.
Thereby,
the Republican Party is letting the unforgiving hand of nature purge
American society of disabled and old people under the guise of death by
natural causes. Does the Republican Party see disabled people and poor
senior citizens as political fodder to be written off in their efforts
to preserve their fat cat constituencies?
As a senior citizen, I am struggling for the first
time in supporting Castle in an election effort. I will pay very strong
attention to his Democratic rival in the fall 2010 Midterm election. I
find myself tumbling over in my mind, “Is it time for Michael Castle to
retire?”
When I think about a strategic mistake that the
Delaware Republican Party has made with national ramifications they have
not fostered the development of new generational candidates to succeed
their stalwarts for good tough primaries have been avoided. Senator J.
Caleb Boggs (R) was defeated by Vice President of the United States
Joseph Biden (D).
Senator William Roth (R) was defeated by
US Senator Thomas Carper (D). Who will dash Castle’s US Senatorial
dream? Will a good old fashion Republican primary prevent
the party from abdicating Delaware leadership to the Democratic Party? |
