When I started to ponder the actions of the ultra-right in their attacks on Senator Barack Obama it became apparent that they were employing a yesteryear hate group strategy only today they are exploiting racism through the carefully crafted use of euphemisms. The elements of their malevolent strategy that appeared to standout:

1) Ignore the forty and under voters because they have no knowledge of the pre-civil rights era race baiting politics where overt racism was legitimate. Go after over 50 white voters who may yearn for the good old days before the civil rights and voting rights acts passed and the US Supreme Court knocked down the anti-miscegenation laws.

2) Highjack Senator Hillary Clinton’s campaign because it will mask any racist sigma by contending that the focus is on older Americans. Clinton would not be accused of overt racism because of the track record of Former President Bill Clinton had with Black America. However, she may shield underhanded activities because she also brings the white female vote over 50 and the Catholic vote who may be worried about a liberal national psyche permitting stances currently opposed by the Church.

3) Encourage Republicans to vote in the Democratic Primaries to maintain discord by exploiting Sen. Clinton’s ego through right wing orchestrations of her victories. Sen. Clinton’s ego would make her ballyhoo her victories; thereby, they would shield an honest assessment of what is really going on.

4) Create political baggage for Obama where none may exist. Spin Obama statements made in earnest to show anti-white sentiment. You want to ignite anti-black passion in blue collar and over fifty whites making them ignore their socioeconomic plight because now they had a legitimate black scapegoat to blame.

5) Define Obama as yesteryear’s uppity black man who is fodder for lynching by vilifying his high educational achievement. You must label Obama as an elitist who is looking down on blue collar white Americans. Hence, the right wing has created the racially charged atmosphere that says it is now time for a good old fashion white vigilante lynching only today they must exploit a media lynching for Obama committed the high crime of being socioeconomically above blue collar whites. What is disingenuous is to see Sen. Clinton attempting to be a good ol’ girl when she is worth over a hundred million dollars.

6) Ballyhoo black images that conjure up racial divisiveness. Show Rev. J. Wright’s image and comment every occasion possible.

7) Use the Internet as the key platform to spout anti-Obama propaganda on a daily bases.

It would be easy for African Americans to merely cry in the media over what appears to be a well thought out anti-black campaign. On the other hand some of us relics of yesteryear’s civil rights struggle know that such actions must not go uncontested. I write blogs through Hannity.com which is a bastion of the right wing. I read a post vilifying Sen. Obama that I thought was pure propaganda. I decided this writer had earned my infamous Dr. Joseph Goebbels award for his propaganda skullduggery.

“I will give you an “A” for propaganda 101. You have earned my second Dr. Joseph Goebbels award for 2008 for your attempt to exploit vindictive rhetoric to vilify Senator Barack Obama. I guess you hate Obama so much because he represents the reemergence of liberal thinking in the US mainstream. Who are you to declare how tough Sen. Obama may be? You are merely a prognosticator making unfounded statements.

“I am a conservative Republican, but I realize the line between news and propaganda. I have written hundreds of newspaper editorials over roughly 35 years, so I want the public to hear both sides of the issues to make informed decisions. I trust you will ballyhoo your Goebbels’ award in your next post.”

I got taken to the woodshed with a notice that I did not have access to the forum section of the Hannity.com website. “You have been banned for the following reason: Nazi inference / incivility / 48 hour time out Date the ban will be lifted: April 25th, 2008, 11:00 am”

Do you think it would be disingenuous if I believe the above skullduggery was underway and I merely buried my head in the sand like everything was okay? Can you offer me some guidance on waging a campaign against right wing zealots who are manipulating the blue collar White American vote?
