Political genocide of liberal thinking is underway in the United States of America?

As I watched the video of Reverend Jeremiah Wright, Senator Barack Obama’s retired minister, run over and over again on the television, my initial reaction was that the media is having a field day being an agent of a reincarnation of race baiting politics. It appeared that the media devised a scheme to force race into the Presidential election process without violating the unwritten laws of political correctness. I looked for a quasi-leader of the new racist genre to vilify for this attempt to smear Senator Obama by tying him to Reverend Wright’s incendiary comments against America. A holistic look at the Reverend Wright’s debacle suggests an underhanded ultra right propaganda scheme afoot to exploit Obama’s campaign to kill the dawning of liberalism in the economic mainstream.

I knew that Rush Limbaugh felt good about his ability to dictate the Democratic primary outcomes by urging Republicans to cast their votes for Senator Hillary Clinton; thereby, keeping Senator Obama from winning the nomination. I wanted to label Limbaugh as the Grand Knight of the Rightwing Media Talk show chapter of the Ku Klux Klan. This mindset was wrong for labeling Limbaugh a racist would have allowed him to jump for joy because then I made myself a victim of a potential rightwing conspiracy to exploit yesteryear’s race baiting political tactics to obliterate mainstream liberal thought. Limbaugh would have made me his poster child for caustic rhetoric aimed at saying here is a black man calling me a racist when I committed no blatant racist acts.

On the other hand, the more I thought about the Wright incendiary video clip playing over and over again I wondered where does news end and propaganda begin. It appeared that every time I saw a news show there were Rev. Wright’s infamous comments.

What really kindled my thinking to take a closer look to see if something underhanded was brewing from the ultra right was the difficulty I experienced in seeing a video clip of Senator Obama’s Philadelphia, PA speech on race. I went to the Web sites of a couple of major news organizations where I found roughly ten percent of the speech. I even contacted one of my Trotter Group (national black columnists) associates to get his advice on locating the full speech on video. I finally found the full video of Senator Obama’s speech on MSNBC.

Senator Obama did a Herculean job, but it was obvious that the rightwing was dictating the game. Since I possess a very strong suspicion that the ultra right is utilizing military tactics against the Obama campaign, I examined the teachings of the Great Chinese War Philosopher Sun Tzu for guidance. The rightwing political strategy to bombard the general public with the Wright video suggested a military style propaganda machine working well.

Sun Tzu teaches, "All warfare is based on deception. Therefore, when capable, feign incapacity; when active, inactivity."

Sun Tzu’s teachings suggested that I look for the deception in a rightwing scheme not merely to knock off Senator Obama but to see that liberal thinking does not gain a serious foothold in the American talk show circuit. Today, I believe the ultra rightwing commands the opinionated talk show genre.

Without serious competition the ultra rightwing are free to run amok on whatever it wants to espouse on the airways. Fair and balance reporting on some television shows is a joke because a guess is nothing more than a prop for the host to spout his ideological stances.

Since, I assume that the ultra right is following Sun Tzu’s teachings, then I am not surprise should they exploit racism as a propaganda tool to recruit blue collar white males, worried over losing their jobs and lifestyle, to become their voting bloc in the Pennsylvania Democratic Party Primary. The ultra rightwing may relish vilifying Senator Obama as the modern day pied piper of liberalism.

On the surface, you might think the ultra right’s Pennsylvania voting scheme is excellent politics until you wonder if they are exploiting lessons from Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Party in preparing the German people for the killing of six million Jews. Wikipedia offers, "On November 7, 1938 a young Jew, enraged by his family's expulsion from Germany, walked into the German Embassy in Paris and fired five shots at a junior diplomat. Three days later, the diplomat was dead and Germany in the grip of skilfully orchestrated anti-Jewish violence. In the early hours of 10 November, an orgy of co-ordinated destruction broke out in cities, towns and villages throughout the Third Reich. The consequences of this violence were disastrous for the Jews of the Third Reich.

"Kristallnacht saw the destruction in a single night of more than a thousand Synagogues, the ransacking of tens of thousands of Jewish businesses and homes, and more than 30,000 Jewish men were rounded up and taken to concentration camps. . . ."

When you realize that Rev. Wrights comments will be excellent political fodder for the ultra right to exploit in manipulating the ardor of working class White America and yesteryear’s white racists I worry that the ultra right is perpetrating a quasi- Kristallnacht. Their goal is to have working class whites consumed with disdain for Black Americans and legal immigrants for stealing their white privilege of getting the first option on jobs. This white disdain is clear evidence that they got duped into believing a new direction is a disingenuous dream for true conservatives even though the US economy now is teetering on an economic depression.

I guess Rush Limbaugh should be awarded the first annual Dr. Joseph Goebbels Award, since Goebbels was the propaganda genius that prepared the German people to turn a blind eye while the Holocaust was underway. I hope my comparison of today’s ultra rightwing antics with thinking underpinned by Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Party does not portend a political genocide for liberal thinking in the United States of America.
